How the price guide works
- Prices are what sellers are asking on live kemotives listings, not what cars sold for.
- The typical price is the median: half the listings ask less and half ask more, so one listing priced far off doesn't move it much.
- A model year shows once it has at least 3 listings. “Most ask between” is the middle half of their asking prices.
- Prices don't account for mileage, condition or trim, and change as listings are added, edited and sold. Check those before you buy.
Price labels on listings
Each listing is compared with the other live listings of the same make, model and year. It needs at least 3 of those to get a label.
- Good price
- 10% or more below the typical price
- Fair price
- Within 10% of the typical price
- High price
- 10% or more above the typical price
A listing priced under half or over double the typical price gets no label: that's more often a typo or a different trim than a real bargain.
